His work belongs to a tradition of photography which relies on seeing and understanding the significance of the moment, and capturing it.

Kristin & Frank’s Wedding

Kristin and Frank invited me to be their wedding photographer when I met them earlier this year, and I was excited to be asked knowing they were great fans of the photographic arts. We started the day at Kristin’s Mom’s house where she got ready and then made our way to St. Patrick’s Church in Farmington where we caught up with Frank and the boys. Here are some photos from their day…

Kristin’s looked slowly over at her Mom coming into the kitchen so as not to mess up the hairdresser.

The bridesmaid’s got themselves together upstairs as Kristin got done up on the first floor.

I thought this reflection in the microwave was kinda cool.

Mom came back into the kitchen to get things ready for that evening’s afterparty, and sneaked a peek at Kristin’s developing hairdo.

I stood in the tub to capture this shot of Kristin preparing to put on her makeup.

While the bridemaids left early to bring the flowers to the church, Kristin’s mom helped with putting on her dress…

…as well as her earrings.

A closeup of the earrings being put in.

Though it was only raining lightly, I’m sure the help was welcome in keeping the hair and dress dry.

The church was beautiful inside, and filled with Kristin and Frank’s friends and family.

Kristin gently wiped a tear from Frank’s cheek before they exchanged rings.

Frank’s Mom was clearly overjoyed by the ceremony.

The first kiss.

We shot this Quick Portrait when we next visited the beautiful Elizabeth Park in Hartford for some additional formals.

Another Quick Portrait under the canopy.

Kristin and Frank share their first dance during their reception at Chez Josef in Agawam.

A view from behind the happy couple looking out over their guests at the reception.

Kristin’s bridesmaids let loose a bit as the DJ got the crowd moving.

Many from the wedding party made their way into the entryway where the dessert buffet was eventually put out.

This shot of Kristin was made through the ice sculpture on the dessert buffet.

Ready, aim…

Kristin and Frank’s friends, UConn grads all, gathered in a circle to sing the UConn fight song.

The couple together toward the end of the reception.

And then it was the last dance of the day.
